All about me-Updated 2009

  1. I grew up in Massachusetts
  2. After 27 years away I still have my Boston accent.
  3. I spent 12 years in Catholic schools and ended up an agnostic (closer to atheist now-2 years later).
  4. I got married in 1983 at the age of 31 just before I turned into the dreaded old maid.
  5. I married my former boss and we’re still married.
  6. I have two children, one girl and one boy.
  7. I have one stepson and daughter-in-law and one grandson.(and another on the way in October 2009)
  8. We have had 11 homes since we were married.
  9. We have lived in Maryland longer than anywhere…7 years.
  10. I plan on staying here. It feels like home.
  11. I love to quilt and have a long arm quilting machine.
  12. I learned to knit when I was a child, but abandoned it until three years ago.
  13. I travel a lot for work, I am a self employed pharmaceutical quality consultant.
  14. I have enough quilt fabric to sink a battleship.
  15. I am working on enough sock yarn to compliment the quilt fabric
  16. I have a swift and a ball-winder, and I would love to learn to dye (Done, now have a hand dyeing website!)
  17. None of my children learned to sew or knit.
  18. My son is an amazing photographer- probably because I liked to play Simon and Garfunkle music ” Kodachrome” when he was a baby. :)
  19. I love to cook, but hate to make a mess.
  20. I wish I could cook Vietnamese food, but so far I am unsuccessful. (Just ask the family)
  21. Cooking Italian is my best, since I am Italian ( and Irish!)
  22. I always swore I would never dye my hair until it started to turn gray, and I changed my mind.
  23. I feel guilty dying my hair- Irish-Italian guilt is hard to beat.
  24. I’ve never gone to a school reunion.
  25. My Dad is still with us at 87 years old.
  26. My mother died in childbirth when my brother was born.
  27. My Dad has had three wives: two of whom he has outlived, and the last one is slightly younger than my husband.
  28. My daughter is an amazing musician.
  29. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid.
  30. I remember exactly where I was when President Kennedy was shot.
  31. My favorite colors to wear are black and white..not necessarily together.
  32. I went to Hawaii last year for the first time and fell in love with the place.(been three times now)
  33. I resisted the reading of the Harry Potter books until last year when I devoured them all, and became a rabid fan.
  34. I wish I could write a novel.
  35. I love to read mysteries and science fiction.
  36. When I read Stephen King’s Carrie I was camping in the Maine woods.
  37. I do not have a green thumb despite studying enough Biology and Botany in college.
  38. I hate to vacuum, so I let Merry Maids do it. Although I always need to clean up before they come.
  39. Since I started knitting socks earlier this year, I’ve not done much quilting and feel somewhat traitorous
  40. I used to hate to fly big time, but I have overcome that fear.
  41. Three years ago I lost 50 pounds and soon after started to look my age. Fat hides wrinkles. Kept most of the weight off despite that.
  42. I m kind of a loner, probably because we moved so much.
  43. I never thought I would have children, but I am so very glad I did.
  44. I lived across the street from the church and graveyard when I was a kid, and was deathly afraid that the holy statues would come to life if I looked at them.
  45. I used to sneak out the back door of the church when I was a teenager, and thought my parents never knew.
  46. I hate to be late for anything.
  47. I dislike waiting in lines and for people.
  48. I’ve traveled to Canada(Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, New Brunswick and Ontario), England, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland, Estonia, Mexico, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Nassau, Saint Martin and Saint Thomas (and and Jamaica and Belgium)
  49. I’ve never been to Oklahoma,Montana, Idaho, Alabama, Louisiana, North and South Dakota, Mississippi and Arkansas.
  50. Hawaii is my favorite state.
  51. When I was in high school I worked at Friendly Ice Cream.
  52. I hate milk except with warm chocolate cake and in cereal.
  53. My grandmother’s name was Raphaella and she taught me how to sew.
  54. I’ve had an email address since 1990.
  55. I have one brother and one sister.
  56. I was the last kid in my family to get married.
  57. I regret not being able to live in a dorm when I was in college. I was a commuter.
  58. My parents refused to pay my college tuition (paid all by me) but paid my brother’s since girls only went to college to “find a husband”.
  59. I am very glad times have changed.
  60. I am a very good people manager.
  61. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid.- apparently I wanted this really bad, since I have mentioned it twice :-)
  62. I still wish I could travel to another planet.
  63. I bore easily.
  64. My favorite color is red.
  65. I got married in the church where John Adams and John Quincy Adams are buried.
  66. I quit smoking 23 years ago.
  67. Both of my best friends died very young.
  68. I used to own a motorcycle before I got married.
  69. I graduated from high school in 1969.
  70. I think Seattle is my favorite big city, right up there with Chicago and Boston.
  71. My first car was a light blue Chevy II.
  72. My favorite car was my Volkswagen bug.
  73. I think pizza from Revere Beach is my favorite food.
  74. I was scared to death of the nuns in grammar school.
  75. I used to make up sins to confess when I was little.
  76. I can’t swim in water that is over my head.
  77. I love the ocean, but I am usually afraid to swim in the water.
  78. I am deathly afraid of dogs unless they are little like beagles.
  79. I hate a cat once until I became allergic.
  80. We never had pets as children.
  81. I wish I could play the piano.
  82. I hate to go to the dentist.
  83. I don’t miss smoking.
  84. I love baseball games, but we don’t go often enough. We have tickets for the Red Soc in August 2009 in Baltimore!! Yeah!!!
  85. I wish my kids didn’t bicker so much. Getting better!
  86. I dislike talking on the phone except to my sister.
  87. I wish my sister and brother got along with each other.
  88. I love to watch snow fall.
  89. I always wear a watch.
  90. I have had pierced ears since I was 13 years old, and saved the money to pay the doctor from babysitting, but I had to walk the 2 miles to and from because I only had enough to pay for the visit and not for the bus.
  91. My favorite drink when I was in my 20’s was a screwdriver, now it is light beer or red wine.
  92. I am running out of interesting things to write.
  93. My Dad still worries about me.
  94. I love the “Closer” TV show. Everyone else in my family hates it.
  95. The only reality tv show I’ve ever seen is “Top Chef”.
  96. I think I will die if they stop making “Law and Order”
  97. I don’t have a lot of friends, but those I do have, I tend to keep for a long time.
  98. I can’t carry a tune in a paper bag.
  99. I love jazz and rock and most every other kind of music except country (even most stuff my daughter has on her Ipod)
  100. The first audio book I ever listed too was Harry Potter Book 6, and it was awesome. I could knit and “read” at the same time.
